AUP PROCESSING NOTES: 3rd Quarter 2017

1) The term "$xLiterary art", a free-floating subdivision under names of individual persons, has been changed to "$xWriting skill"

2) The subject heading "Style, Literary" has been changed to "Literary style"

3) The Arab-Israeli Accord of 1993, formerly authorized as: "110 1 $aIsrael.$tTreaties, etc.$gMunazzamat al-Tahrir al-Filastiniyah,$d1993 September 13"
has been changed to:
"130 0 $aDeclaration of Principles on Interim Self-Government Arrangements$d(1993 September 13)"

4) "1000 $aAugustine,$cSaint, Bishop of Hippo"
has been changed to
"1000 $aAugustine,$cof Hippo, Saint,$d354-430"

5) The subject heading "Dwarfs" has been replaced with two headings: "Dwarfs (Folklore)" and "Dwarfs (Persons)".

6) The subject heading "Transgenderism" has been replaced with "Gender non-conformity". Please note that this does not affect the term "Transgender people", nor any subject phrase that begins with "Transgender".

7) "Transvestites" has been replaced with "Cross-dressers". This term is for works on persons, especially males, who assume the dress and manner of the opposite sex for psychological gratification. Works on men who impersonate women, generally for purposes of entertainment or comic effect, are entered under "Female impersonators". Works on women who impersonate men, generally for purposes of entertainment or comic effect, are entered under "Male impersonators".

8) "Transvestism" has been replaced with "Cross-dressing".

9) Fictitious and legendary characters continue to be shifted from the Subject Authority File to the Name Authority File.
