AUP PROCESSING NOTES: 2nd Quarter 2014

1) LC has changed the official form for Cape Verde to Cabo Verde. This has been updated in relevant headings and in geographic subdivisions.

2) Per RDA, any relationship designator $e or $j that occurs between $a and $t in an author/title heading has been removed.

3) Also per RDA, $s (versions, etc.) now occurs after $k (Selections, etc.), even for a music-related $s, such as $sLibretto or $sVocal score.
e.g. "1001 $aSchwartz, Stephen. $t Godspell. $k Selections. $s Vocal score"
Please note that there remain many headings in the LC authority file in the old form. These will be corrected by LC and NACO libraries over time.

4) All LTI headings for fictional and mythological characters have been shifted from subject headings (150 field) to name headings (100 field).

5) LC has changed three treaty series headings:
n 84731555 "United States.$tTreaties, etc. (Treaties and other international acts series)"
to "Treaties and other international acts series."

n 84746255 "United States.$tTreaties, etc. (Executive)"
to "Executive (Treaties : United States. Congress. Senate)"

no 99039289 "United States.$tTreaties, etc. (Executive agreement series)"
to "Executive agreement series"

6) The following enhancements have been made to the AUP ".LSA" report:

a) When an authority record has a 667 field that contains the character sequence "undif", the content of the 667 field is included in the report entry. Usually, this note looks like this: "667: -$aFormerly on undifferentiated record: [record number]"

Examples:

c) A new section has been added at the end of the report where the entries are labeled "*u 1xx same, date/content change" and include the note "008: record marked as an undifferentiated personal name".

This section includes records extracted for the library where the 1XX form has not changed but something else has changed and where the record is marked as undifferentiated in the 008 field. Most commonly, the modification is the removal of the note(s) related to a heading that now has been differentiated.
